JoySmart Solutions are integrations of the company’s smart connected products and systems, advanced analytics and direct services customized to deliver value that can take the form of anything from optimizing performance to increasing safety. The integrated offerings that make up JoySmart Solutions are already achieving strong results for customers worldwide, as evidenced by several case studies on www.joyglobal.com. In one such example, JoySmart Solutions experts worked with a mining customer to eliminate inefficiencies in the operation. By reducing the wait time between haulage units per continuous miner, per shift, over the year prior, from 44.2 seconds to 42.7 seconds, on average, the savings began to add up. With eight continuous miners running daily, the tons added through wait times reduced came to an additional 66,150 tons produced per year for the customer’s operation. “We really have smart equipment,” said Michael Rikkola, program manager for Joy Global remote health monitoring. “Taking that equipment and connecting it into an advance analytics platform allows us to not only increase machine health and productivity, but also move people and equipment from harm’s way.” In addition to its work with area mines, Joy Global regularly shows its commitment to Utah through its work with local communities.
